Brick Lane Women

Our desire is to glorify God by striving to meet the needs of women in our church and in our community.  We are the arms of Jesus, embracing women in their world so that they will live more fully for Him.

Since spiritual growth is our priority, we present opportunities for you to be an active participant in Sunday morning classes, Bible studies, and other teaching and training opportunities.  We encourage you to check out the options below to find something that fits for you.

Women's Bible Studies (current studies listed below)

Throughout the year, our ladies gather for fellowship, prayer and accountability in the Word. Each September our Wednesday morning and evening Bible studies begin, though over the summer we also have a study as well as weekly prayer groups.  Many studies are offered each year, recently ranging from a Precept study of 2 Peter to a study of Future Grace. Quality childcare is offered for morning studies at a nominal cost.  Scroll down to the bottom of this page for a list of studies currently being offered.

Women's Sunday Morning Gathering

Are you looking for community with and encouragement from other women? Join us in the gathering room Sundays 9-10 AM as we pray together, share our questions and concerns, and look to Scripture for answers in our situations.

Events

You were created for more than a party -- but it sure does make the journey even more fun!  The Brick Lane Women's Committee loves to party with a purpose. It's our desire to provide not only enjoyable social events for the women of our church (and creative outlets for our planners), but first and foremost we desire to spur all of our women in their own walk of faith.

As we plan our Parties with a Purpose, our goals are to provide you with fellowship opportunities to catch up with your sisters at Brick Lane, a comfortable environment for you to practice hospitality as you invite friends with whom you desire to share your faith and the love and warmth of our congregation, and the privilege of sharing in the support of your sisters through women's ministry so they are able to attend Bible studies or the spring retreat.

Our purposes are many.  Our goal is singular: to bring honor and glory to our Heavenly Father. We'd love to have you join us - to help plan or to just Party with a Purpose.

Mercy and Encouragement

Our hope is that God will use us to shower his mercy into the lives of women who need help, comfort, or encouragement.  We love providing gift baskets to first time moms and meals to families during times of illness, transition or crisis.

Moms Together

Three times a year our mothers meet for a morning designed to encourage and equip moms with children from birth through fifth grade.  Each event includes a hot breakfast, a presentation on a relevant topic, and the opportunity for discussion around tables, all in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.  At the same time, their young children are enjoying a special, quality, age-appropriate program with Bible stories, games, crafts and snacks.

God’s Special Women

God’s Special Women is our very vibrant widows’ group.  These women meet together monthly for fellowship in each others’ homes. Book discussions, prayer, singing, games and crafts are among the activities they do together. They encourage one another in many ways, as they serve in the church and reach out to others, trusting God to meet their every need.

Isaiah 54:5 “For the God who made you is like your husband. He will meet your every need”

A Note About Childcare During Studies

Knowing that it is nearly impossible to study the Bible with a room full of children, we offer childcare services during the morning study hours for preschool-aged children. (This is only for those morning classes that meet at the church.) Mothers are asked to please sign their children up ahead of time by calling their study leader; this will enable us to have an adequate number of sitters to safely accommodate the number of children entrusted to our care. You are asked to pay a weekly fee of $3 for the first child, and $1 for each additional child to help cover expenses. If you prefer, you can arrange to leave your own children at home with your own sitter. Thank you in advance for not bringing your children to your class.

Abide: A Study of 1, 2, & 3 John (Jen Wilkin)

In these three short letters, the apostle John reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it.  He reminds us as well. In this 10-session Bible study on the letters of John 1, 2, & 3, we will see how 2,000 years later, his words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth.
